Noren is a rectangular tapestry with a slit in the middle and a slot at the top for a rod (often bamboo rod). This one is not cut but it has a groove in the center vertically so you can easily cut with a scissors. It will not fray.
Use it as a tapestry on the wall without cutting or use it as a privacy Noren to walk through it.
Noren has been in Japanese households and shops for a very long time. Noren was originally hang at the entrance way to guard against the sun, wind, dust, and nosey neighbors. Now days, Noren is used to provide shade and privacy at doorways and windows. They are commonly used in restaurants and shops as well. You can also use is as a wall art.
