Good luck / Fortune Daruma 4" height
The dolls originated in 1783 to help farmers after a natural disaster, based on the image of Bodhidharma (Daruma Daishi).
The round shape represents Bodhidharma meditating with his red robe covering his limbs.
Eyes are traditionally filled in starting with the right eye (viewer's right) when making a wish.
The color red is used because Bodhidharma wore a red robe, and different colors do not change the doll's meaning.
